Stormy: The Alluminum Cast Lamp

I designed and manufactured a dog-shaped lamp, inspired by my dog Stormy to remind me of her while I'm off at school away from her. The project involved extensive prototyping and a variety of manufacturing processes. I designed the whole project using Fusion 360. I sliced the mold into a 2d laser cut out of Duron, which I had to glue together and sand. There were a few issues with the mold, but I needed to redesign the mold with more draft. I then sand cast the two halves of the dog, and post machined screw holes and additional geometries to the cast. I also machined a swiveling neck mechanism and created the front legs using sheet metal bending and rivets. I finished by sandblasting it to make the finish resemble fur.
